Ultraviolet Technology
The Destructive Power of Aquatronics UV Air and Water Purification Systems...
The table below shows the amount of ultraviolet energy required (at 254 nm wavelength), for 99.9% destruction of various microorganisms measured in microwatt seconds per centimeter squared. All of the UV systems we sell output Ultraviolet energy, at no less than 25,000 and microwatt seconds per centimeter squared during new lamp operation.
Aqua Guard UV Lighting
New lamps will output ultraviolet energy in the range of 35,000 to 40,000 microwatt seconds per centimeter squared. This output will slowly deteriorate over a one year period, but never fall below the minimum 25,000 value when used at manufacturers recommended maximum usage time. Lamp replacement is highly recommended every 9,000 hours. However, under certain applications, lamps may exceed this by as much as 2,000 hours.
